17K INVESTMENT TO REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

At Traditional Window & Conservatory Co. We realise our environmental responsibility. Which is why we have recently installed a wood waste fuelled heater.

All waste wood products have previously been disposed of in a 14 yard large skip which was emptied into landfill 1-2 times a week. Now all waste wood products are burnt to provide the workshops with heating, reducing our skip disposal to one every 5-6 weeks.

Throughout the process we have been working closely with the Carbon Trust to make the company energy efficient. The energy savings we will achieve in the coming years will be substantial and the whole process is already proving to be very successful.

When we return with your old windows and doors, the glass and hardware is removed, the wood is cut and burnt and the workshops are provided with heating. Reducing landfill to a minimum.

An extremely beneficial step to reducing our carbon foot-print!

New Investments At Traditional Windows

TWCC recently invested in £50k of new state of the art machinery, with precision woodworking technology...

Pictured above is our recent £30k investment of the SCM Compact XL Automatic Through-Feed planer Moulder. It combines precise planning and moulding to meet your window design needs, leaving a superior surface finish.

Pictured above is our most recent £20k investment: SCM Sandya 7-S/ 2, the automatic wide bed sander. This machine allows us to check the exact thickness of the wood and is equipped with decimal adjustment, ensuring 0.1mm accuracy. To accommodate the new sander, Traditional Window's took on another unit. We now run 3 in total, machine shop, spray and glaze shop, and the joinery.

We are now using a new range of paint and wood coatings – Impralan. We use a unique method of applying 4 coats of micro porous paint, to enable the timber to breathe. These coatings are applied away from the elements in a controlled environment at our workshop.

H.I.P - Home Information Pack

 Home Information Pack

The Government has introduced Home Information Packs to improve the process of buying and selling a home.

All homes marketed for sale from 14th December 2007 in England and Wales will need a Home Information Pack (HIP).

A key component of the HIP is the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), which will rate the home’s energy efficiency, using graphs like those on fridges and washing machines.

It includes recommendations on how to cut fuel bills and reduce carbon emissions, encouraging people to make improvements to the energy efficiency of their homes either by installing low emmissity double glazing, loft insulation etc.
